Prenatal workout DVD - Proper Exercise in Pregnancy

The Ready Steady Mums workout DVD - Proper Exercise in Pregnancy launches today. Info (including a trailer and a link to buy it) is on www.readysteadymums.com/pregnant. I'm very proud of it, please help spread the word :)

It's no secret that mums-to-be want to exercise safely and effectively. But sadly many pregnant women are so confused about what they can and should do to get active that they do nothing.

So... I worked with expert qualified prenatal exercise instructors and medical professionals to build a practical and complete solution that really works.

It's a pick-and-mix! A comprehensive, safe and fun DVD which includes Yoga, Pilates and Strength and Tone workouts; plus tracks on meditation, relaxation, motivational tips; and advice on your prenatal body. It provides the answers to the all important questions: How can I look after my body and growing baby safely? How can I get active to be healthy, to help make childbirth easier and reduce the risk of postnatal health problems?

Mark Slack, Head of Urogynaecology at Addenbrooke's Hospital Cambridge, finds that women who are active though pregnancy are more likely to avoid common postnatal health problems like pelvic floor damage, back-pain and incontinence. But he stresses that doing the right kind of exercuse is vital. He recommends our new series of prenatal workouts as the best and safest pregnancy exerciuse around - "a complete programme that mums-to-be can do safely at home".

We filmed the pregnancy DVD workouts when I was 26 weeks pregnant, with other real mums-to-be in the classes with me. We got the first batch of DVDs delivered just before my son was born and now they are ready for you and your pregnant friends!

Thanks for buying one and being part of the Ready Steady Mums community.

  1. Is it not risky to have that kind of workout? How can we have that DVD for pregnant?

  2. I understand your concern. Lots of pregnant ladies worry that they don't know what exercise is safe during pregnancy, and there are lots of myths saying "do nothing". But the health benefits of being active during pregnancy are medically proven.

And that's exactly why we developed this DVD!

All the exercises are safe: designed by medical and fitness experts just for mums-to-be. The DVD is endorsed by top medical professionals and even includes bonus advice tracks e.g. on how to look after your prenatal body and the right intensity to exercise at each stage. So you can enjoy following the workouts with peace of mind that you're doing what's best for your body and your growing baby.

There is more info on our site www.readysteadymums.com (also look at the 'about' page and the 'faqs').

Thanks for asking the question, and enjoy your pregnancy! Katy
