First haircut - a big milestone?

Just before his first haircut....

...with Daddy the barber...

I am wondering whether any other parents, like me, make just a little bit too much meaning in their baby's first haircut? 

First hair-cut. Big week.

...and now he's not a baby any more!

Does this really mean my baby is now not my baby any more cos he looks like a proper little boy?
